Camping at Lake Shasta

We just got back from 8 days of camping in Northern California....the boys had SO MUCH fun, however, I wouldn't probably recommend it to anyone else 8 months pregnant! The boys got to dig in the sand and get dirty all day every day, and ate junk food all day long...it was thier perfect vacation!!! Peyton was his usual naughty two-year-old self the whole time...the highlight had to be one night when we put him to bed in our tent. He had been in there almost 40 minutes, so we figured he would crash any second. He was suddenly quiet and we figured he had gone to sleep. Well....a couple hours later I went in to check on him, and stepped in a huge puddle of shampoo! That little rat had gone through my bag and pulled out a BIG, FULL bottle of baby shampoo, opened the lid, and proceeded to dump it all over the tent...it was all over the bed, the floor, in the clothes, and pretty much everywhere else he could find.....it was a fun night cleaning up....the next morning I asked him about it, and he just smiled and laughed, like he always does! Oh, Petyon, you make life so interesting! We are glad to be back and still doing laundry, but overall had a great vacation!

We have a picture of this beach on a calendar at home, and we decided to try and find it while we were there...it was so AMAZING! The homes there were unreal and the water was so blue...the funny thing is we asked this guy to take a picture of us, and he told us to wait until his friend moved out of the way, then he took the picture with him in it anyway! And they were the only other people at this little tiny beach! It was so pretty though!

More Hawaii pics....

Here are some pictures of the resort we stayed in and the beach along there, seriously, I want to go back!!!

Hawaii

We just got back from the best vacation ever! We decided to go to Hawaii before the baby comes, since I will not be able to leave the house for the next year at least!!! We had so much fun--it is was so beautiful and relaxing. My favorite thing we did was snorkeling at Hamamua (sp?) bay. It was this little bay that had tons and tons of reef and was super shallow the whole way out. We saw octpus, sea turtles, and tons of beautiful fish. The only bad part was I was so stupid and forgot to put sunblock on the back of my legs, and since I was floating on my belly the whole time, they got pretty burnt and hurt the rest of the time!!! One of Shawn's friends from freshman year got married, and that was fun to go thier wedding. They had traditional hawaiian food at the reception, and it was, ummm...interesting. We had to ask what everything was, and when we didn't understand their answers, I just stuck to white rice and pineapple! So, looking at these pictures I realize how enormous I look...I would not have let Shawn take all these if I had known...oh well, at least I have an excuse right? Now that we are back, real life has quickly set in...I am ready for another vacation!

Peyton's 2!!!!

Peyton turned two last week, and he had a great day. All day long he was so happy and just kept walking around saying, "happy day!" I took him to Peter Piper Pizza and let him play for a while--his favorite game was basketball (no surprises there!) After holding him up off and on for two hours letting him shoot, I finally got him to get on some of the other rides!!! That night we had our family over for a little party and he loved all the attention! He didn't want to open presents though, we had to trick him into doing it (good thing Riley was there to help....he is a pro by now!) By the time we got to cake, he was so exhausted, and didn't want anything to do with it. We had a great day, I can't believe that my baby is two! Happy Birthday Peyton, I love you!!!!

American Idol Concert

Last Saturday we went to the American Idol Concert--it was AMAZING!!! I have been twice before but this was by far the best season. All of them sounded amazing, way better in person I thought. I am absolutely in love with Jason Castro, he was adorable as always, and I have to admit that Carly was amazing too, even though she wasn't my favorite on the show. And as much as I hate to say it, David Archiletta was pretty good (probably becuase he sang "apologize", which is my favorite song EVER!) The other songs were pretty cheesy, but everyone was going crazy! And finally, David Cook....ahhhh.....DAVID COOK! He was better than amazing! He has a great personality and really interacted with the crowd---he looked like such a natural, like he's been doing it for 20 years! He sang "hello" and "billy jean" from the show, which were amazing and a few others. I was SO MAD though, becuase my camera battery died the second he came on stage! I couldn't believe it!!!!! Stupid me for not charging it...so that's why you see no pictures of him up here, even though I am super obsessed with him, and was a fan from the beginning! Well worth the money to see it--Rachel and Alisa, I would be happy to fill you both in on all of the details if you want!!!
